Color-Fade Resistance

Lasting Matte Color Palettes

Pirontex is crafted with a mixture of new and recycled poly polymers. Before weaving the fabric yarn, these materials are mixed with colored pigments. This dye method - called solution dyeing - creates a pre-colored yarn rather than relying on chemical dye solutions later in the fabric manufacturing process.

As the fabric pigment starts at the core of the Pirontex fibers, Pirontex maintains its original color even when exposed to intense sunlight, humidity and long periods of exposure. In testing, Pirontex achieved a lightfastness score of 7-8 grade (out of 8).

The fabric's matte finish not only provides an elegant look but also helps in maintaining the color's vibrancy by reducing the reflective glare that can sometimes accelerate fading.

Durability & Longevity

600D Elasticity
Fabric elasticity is a material's ability to stretch and then recover its original shape. High elasticity is a natural partner for a canopy tent where the fabric not only needs to fold and move with tent set-up, but remain tight and tensioned for optimal water performance.

Pirontex is made from a 600D (denier) fabric - the thickness of the fabric thread. The higher the denier, the thicker and more robust the fabric.

Nano-Coating Finish
Finished with a nano-coating, Pirontex® is particularly resistant to cleaning chemicals, water, dirt, and wear and tear. Like all our fabrics, Pirontex is 100% waterproof, UPF 50+, and certified fire-retardant.

TL;DR: How does Pirontex compare to other canopy tent fabrics?

Pirontex fabric excels in providing a balance of durability, environmental sustainability, and aesthetic appeal. Its high lightfastness, UV protection, and eco-friendly production make it a superior choice for canopy tents compared to common materials like nylon, canvas, and vinyl.

This makes Pirontex an excellent option for those seeking long-lasting, high-performance, and environmentally responsible tent fabrics.

Our Pirontex logo depicts an ibex — a type of wild goat. As we worked to develop our newest signature outdoor fabric, our product developers looked to nature for inspiration.

We chose the ibex for its associated characteristics: strength, resilience, and the ability to thrive in harsh conditions - despite its classification as a partially endangered species. In line with our sustainability initiatives, our company commitments include a goal to fund the protection of an endangered species by 2030 alongside our solar energy and reforestation efforts.

These traits all align with the demands for Pirontex fabric, which is designed to be durable, high-quality, and suitable for demanding environments.
