Electric Gazebo Heaters - Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our electric infrared heaters for pop-up gazebos

What are the technical specifications of your electric heaters?

Our electric heaters use short-wave infrared technology. This enables them to emit heat within a few seconds after being turned on.

  • Power: 1,500 watts
  • Dimensions: 51.5 x 9.5 x 12.5 cm
  • Weight: 2.3 kg
  • IP44 degree of protection for resistance against water splashes and solid objects larger than 1 mm
  • Polished aluminum finish
  • Connection: 1/N/PE ~ 230 V 50 Hz, Schuko socket
  • Highly effective bi-focus reflectors ensure an even and pleasant heat field.
  • ULTRA LOW GLARE tubes reduce the red light of infrared heaters by up to 70% compared to conventional models for a more eye-pleasing look.

How much space can you heat with one heater?

With an output of 1,500 W, each heater can effectively heat an area of about 10 square meters, in accordance with technical standards for infrared heaters. This coverage is based on the maximum heater output of 1,500 W, which translates to about 5,120 BTU/hour.

It is important to note that actual heat coverage may vary depending on factors such as ambient temperature, wind conditions, and level of insulation from outdoor space.

How do I set up my electric heater in my folding gazebo?

  • Attach the heater stand to the heater using the screws and nuts provided.
  • Mount the stand to your gazebo’s center post or a leg by turning the caster on the clamp to fully tighten it. Avoid direct contact with your gazebo’s roof or side walls. The clamp is covered with a special rubber grommet that creates friction with the tent frame, preventing it from slipping.
  • Position your heater at a 45-degree angle (+/- 10 degrees) for optimum heat dissipation and maximum safety.
  • Mount your heater at least 6 feet (1.80 m) above the ground. (The legs of our gazebos are at least 2.10 m tall so heaters mounted on the gazebo’s central pole will be in a safe position.)
  • Use the included clips for cable management. Keep cables inside the gazebo off the ground to avoid them getting wet and reduce the risk of electric shocks or falls.

How do I power my electric heater?

To function correctly, your heater must be connected to a power source. Any classic 220-volt European power outlet is suitable for powering your heater. The electric heater comes with an F-type power plug (also called "Schuko" or "German-style").

How long will my heater take to warm up?

Zero seconds. Thanks to infrared technology, the electric heater starts heating as soon as it is plugged in without having to charge first.

How else can I keep my gazebo warm?

Adding side walls to your gazebo helps retain heat inside and prevent cold and wind from entering. Mastertent side walls are designed with fabric flaps fully enclosed by a strong Velcro strap that connects the side walls to each other and the roof. These thick Velcro strips extend the full height of the walls, closing gaps and keeping heat in. In contrast, non-professional gazebo panels use Velcro grommets that leave several gaps allowing heat to escape and wind to enter.

For the harshest weather conditions, our tactical Rescue walls provide additional protection thanks to additional PVC flaps that extend down to the ground and can be attached to the floor of the gazebo, completely enclosing it. Upon request, gazebos can be lined with an interior fabric-insulated cabin to create a climate-controlled space.

Are pop-up gazebos certified as fire-retardant?

Mastertent fabrics are tested and certified as fire retardant according to EN 13401-1:2019. Each Mastertent roof and side wall has a certification label that you can show in case of an on-site inspection, but remember to always to keep the certificates we provide to hand as well.

Direct contact between electric heaters and gazebo fabrics should still be avoided.

What safety precautions do I need to take when using my heater?

  • Do not allow contact with water and do not touch with wet hands.
  • Do not hang objects (clothing, fabrics, etc.) from your heater to dry.
  • Avoid using flammable objects, sprays, or gases when the heater is in operation.
  • Allow your heater to cool before adjusting its position or taking it down and storing it.
  • Inspect the extension cord and connections regularly for signs of wear and tear. Replace any damaged components immediately.
  • If the extension cord is hot, unplug it immediately and check the circuit isn’t overloaded (unplug any other connected devices as well).
