New culinary experiences under Mastertent's folding gazebos
"I am a chef who does not cook for Michelin stars, but for his guests. That's why my biggest focus is on making our guests feel comfortable - even outdoors", Bruno emphasises. "And the Mastertent folding gazebo is perfect for that."
Bruno Steiner is the owner and chef of the small culinary restaurant called "Picknick" in Valdaora. We are sitting on his terrace under the 6x4 m folding gazebo, surrounded by his colourful vegetable garden, the aromatic herb spiral and the scenic pond. While enjoying a plate of homemade "Schlutzkrapfen", Bruno tells us about how his career in gastronomy started: "I have opened the "Picknick" 17 years ago. At first my idea was smiled at, and today? Today I can say with all my heart that it was the right decision." And we can even feel it...
Passionately and with shining eyes Bruno tells us how the name " Picknick" was born, why there are only high tables in his restaurant and why he attaches great importance to regional and seasonal ingredients. While the afternoon sun beams strongly, we are sitting on a "Rustica" table set in the pleasant shade of the elegant folding gazebo and its sidewalls. Since Bruno equipped his gazebo's sidewalls with windows, there penetrates enough daylight for a bright and friendly atmosphere. However, not only on sunny days, but also when it is raining and the wind is blowing, the folding gazebo ensures a pleasant stay on the terrace.
"The folding gazebo was a very valuable investment," Bruno enthuses. "The guests enjoy spending their time out here, especially in the evening. That's probably thanks to the lighting and the tent ceiling on the inside of the roof. The warm light and the slightly transparent fabric, that elegantly covers the tent structure, create a particularly romantic atmosphere which especially couples enjoy," says Bruno with a smile on his face.
The fact that Bruno is convinced of Mastertent's quality is also shown by his newest investment. Since guests always enjoy spending time outdoors, the chef decided to offer them additional protection from the wind. Thanks to the new sidewall, his guests are now protected on all sides and, like the staff, they can enter and exit the gazebo effortlessly through a handy door. This special design with zips and a door that takes up half of the sidewall was realised in only a short time thanks to Mastertent's drive and flexibility. "This sidewall was a very special request, but it was perfectly adapted to our requirements," Bruno tells us. Now it's even cosier, because the door can easily be opened or closed according to the wind.
After finishing our dishes, we thank Bruno for his wonderful hospitality, take another look at his show kitchen and walk back to the car. We had barely got up when the next guests sat down at the table under the protective folding gazebo. We are convinced that also they will feel Bruno's enthusiasm for his work. And the approaching rain clouds will certainly not affect them.
